Thanksgiving Crafts

Thanksgiving Crafts:

We really enjoy doing seasonal crafts that help decorate our home. I have included a few that we plan to do this year.

Turkey Printable:

You can use this printable as a template. Use this to make a cute little turkey.

Thankfulness Placemats:

Supplies:

  • Construction Paper
  • Index card
  • Glue
  • Markers/crayons
  • Pen
  • Laminator (or you can take it to Dittos or Staples to laminate it for you)

This craft is pretty easy.  Grab a piece of construction paper. Trace the child or children's hands on the placemat. Color the handprint in to look like a turkey. On the Index card write what each child is thankful for about the persons placemat. Example Grandma's placemat would have the grandkids handprints and then each child would say 1 thing they are thankful for about Grandma. Write that item down on the index card.

Stained glass Sidewalk Chalk Turkey

Back in April we did the Sidewalk Chalk Stain glass patterns on our fence. Now you can use that same concept to make turkeys.

Supplies:

Painter's tape

Chalk

Instructions:

Use painter's tape to make a small semi circle and then a much larger semi-circle above it (like a double rainbow) The smaller circle leave blank for now as that is where the turkey face will go. From the smaller semi-circle to the larger one place strips of painters tape to make the feathers. Then place more tape in between the feathers making patterns on these feathers. Have your child color in between all the painter's tape. When they are complete remove the painter's tape.

*note you can adapt this to be an inside activity by using cardboard as the base and paints instead of chalk.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Crafting!
